Village of Cross Plains Small Animal Regulations and Licenses
Dogs and Cats:
All dogs and cats in the Village must be licensed and have rabies vaccination. Licenses may purchased at the Village Office. No one may own, harbor or keep any dog or catwhich: Is known to be infected with rabies, known to be of viciousdisposition, has been found to be killing or wounding any animal,habitually disturbs the peace, chases cars, attacks or destroys theproperty of another. Owners are responsible for disposing of feces left by their animal.
Cats and Dogs are to be licenced annually. Bring proofof rabies vaccination to the Village Office to get licenses. Neuteredand spayed cats and dogs are $10.00, unneutered and unspayed cats anddogs are $15.00.

Rabies (Statue 95.21.2)
According to the State of Wisconsin rabies vaccination is required for dogs.
(Keep in mind local regulation require both dogs and cats to be vaccinated for rabies.)
(a) ...[T]he owner of a dog shall have the dog vaccinated against rabies by aveterinarian... at no later than 5 months of age...
(b) ...The person who administers the vaccine ... issue to the owner a certificate of rabiesvaccination bearing a serial number and in the form approved by thedepartment stating the owner's name and address, the name, sex, spayedor unspayed, neutered or unneutered, breed and color of the dog, thedate of the vaccination, the type of rabies vaccine administered and the manufacturer's serial number, the date that the immunization expires...
(c) ...Theveterinarian shall keep a copy of each certificate of rabies vaccination ...
(f) ...The owner shall attach the rabies vaccination tag or a substitute tag to a collar and a collar with the tag attached shall be kept on the dog at all times...
(g) The person who administers the vaccine ... may furnish a new rabies vaccination tag with a new serial number to an owner in place of the original tag...
